The Story Behind the Name
In the 1950s, my grandfather was given a choice by his father-in-law: build a house or build a bar on the family property. He chose the bar. That decision led to the creation of The Penguin, and it became more than a business—it became a place where people gathered, worked hard, and built relationships.
In the 1980s, my father—also named Willie—took over the bar and carried that responsibility forward, staying true to what had already been built while putting his own stamp on it.
My grandfather, my father, and I all share the same name—Willie. I’m the third Willie in the family, and Third Penguin reflects that legacy. To me, it represents continuity, accountability, and the belief that when something works, you don’t discard it—you strengthen it.
That mindset guides how I work with clients today: respect the history, understand the reality on the ground, and build practical strategies that last.
